Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 August 2026

Battery Match Queensland respects your privacy and takes the handling of personal information seriously.

This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how it may be used and shared, and how you can contact us about your information.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use our website or services, we may collect:

  • Your name, email address and telephone number

  • Your suburb, postcode and property details

  • Whether you own or rent the property

  • Information about your existing solar system, inverter and battery

  • Your electricity use and approximate electricity costs

  • Your battery goals, budget and purchasing timeframe

  • An electricity bill or other document you choose to upload

  • Information provided during phone calls, emails or form submissions

  • Website-use information collected through cookies and analytics tools

  • Installer-partner information, including business details, ABN, licences, service areas and contact details

You do not have to provide every piece of information we request. However, without enough information, we may not be able to assess your enquiry or identify a suitable installer.

Please remove account numbers or other information that is not relevant before uploading an electricity bill.

How we collect information

We generally collect information directly from you when you:

  • Complete a form on our website

  • Contact us by phone, email or social media

  • Upload an electricity bill or another document

  • Apply to become an installer partner

  • Speak with us about your battery requirements

We may also receive information from an installer partner where it relates to an introduction we have made, such as whether contact was established, a quote was provided or an installation proceeded.

Why we collect your information

We may use your information to:

  • Respond to your enquiry

  • Review your home-energy information

  • Ask follow-up questions

  • Help identify the matters you should discuss with an installer

  • Identify installer partners operating in your area

  • Make an installer introduction with your permission

  • Manage our installer-partner relationships

  • Follow up on the outcome of an introduction

  • Improve our website, forms, advertising and service

  • Maintain business and compliance records

  • Send information or marketing where you have agreed to receive it

Battery Match provides general information and installer introductions. We do not provide electrical, engineering or financial advice, and we do not make the final technical recommendation for your home.

Sharing information with installers

We will not send your personal information to an installer unless you have given us permission.

If you agree to an introduction, we may provide a selected installer with information relevant to your enquiry. This may include your contact details, location, existing solar information, electricity usage, battery goals, approximate budget, timeframe and any document you have agreed to share.

The installer will then be responsible for its own assessment, recommendations, quote, installation work and handling of your information.

Battery Match Queensland may receive a referral, marketing or introduction fee from an installer if an introduction is accepted or if you proceed with a purchase.

We do not sell personal-information lists or provide your details to unrelated businesses for their own marketing.

Other organisations that may receive information

We may use trusted service providers to operate the business, including:

  • Website hosting and form providers

  • Email and cloud-storage providers

  • Customer-management and spreadsheet systems

  • Website analytics and advertising platforms

  • Professional advisers, insurers and technology providers

These organisations may only receive information reasonably required to provide their service.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect our legal rights or to respond to suspected fraud, misuse or a safety concern.

Website analytics and cookies

Our website may use cookies and services such as Squarespace Analytics, Google Analytics or Meta Pixel.

These tools may collect information including your device type, browser, approximate location, pages visited, links clicked and how you arrived at the website. We use this information to understand website activity and measure advertising.

You can restrict cookies through your browser settings, although some website functions may not operate correctly.

Overseas processing

Some technology providers we use, including Squarespace, Google and Meta, may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where they operate.

Where required, we take reasonable steps to ensure personal information is handled appropriately.

Marketing communications

Submitting an enquiry does not automatically mean you have agreed to receive ongoing marketing.

We will send marketing emails or messages only where we have your consent or are otherwise permitted to do so. You can unsubscribe at any time by using the unsubscribe link, replying “unsubscribe” or contacting us.

Service messages about an enquiry you submitted are separate from marketing messages.

Storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse, interference, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure.

Information may be stored in our email system, website account, cloud storage, customer records and business files.

No internet or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. If a data breach occurs, we will investigate it and make any notifications required by Australian law.

We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, our business records or legal obligations. Information that is no longer needed will be deleted or de-identified where reasonably practical.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask us to:

  • Confirm whether we hold information about you

  • Provide access to your information

  • Correct information that is inaccurate or out of date

  • Withdraw permission for a future installer introduction

  • Delete information where we are not legally or reasonably required to retain it

We may need to confirm your identity before completing a request.

Withdrawing consent does not reverse a disclosure that has already been made with your permission. If your information has already been sent to an installer, you may also need to contact that installer directly.

Privacy complaints

If you have a question or complaint about how we have handled your information, please contact us using the details below.

We will review the issue and aim to respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response and the Privacy Act applies, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our services, technology or legal obligations change. The latest version will be published on this page with the updated date.
